Job Responsibilities: What you will do

To effectively organize, inspect, and relocate a large fleet of both new and used equipment within the yard, while assisting drivers.

  • Follow instruction from Lead Tractor Assignment Personnel to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Body Shop & Mechanic Shop to ensure trucks are available in a timely manner in addition to coordinating and auditing all open trucks in yard. Move units to outside repair facilities when necessary.
  • Prepare daily inventory of both new & used open trucks in yard.
  • Position trucks for sublet detailing company. Inspect and ensure all services are done in accordance with Swift's standards and agreements.
  • Ensure Color Dot System is completed on all outgoing equipment by tagging and marking equipment properly for sale or trade. Cut keys for units. Look up key codes. Stock and restock fire extinguishers.
  • Position equipment into Body Shop & Mechanic Shop for timely repairs.
  • Enter comments into database, so all departments receive status updates.
  • Assist drivers by answering all inquiries regarding new and used trucks.
  • Assign and re-assign/remove drivers from units in AS400 system. Re-plan and T-Call when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of tractor assignment office and related areas.
  • Inspect all trucks for damage and report to Claims department as necessary.
  • Ensure golf carts are fueled and maintained for operations and tractor assignment.
  • Recover permit books from both long-term wrecks and long-term service units. Maintain inventory of permit books to match truck inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

  • Must possess and maintain a drivers license.
  • Ability to organize work for self and others; effective verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to multitask, and prioritize.
  • High School diploma or GED


Pay Range: $15.98 - $22.00 Hourly
